Who am I ?

Hi am Anika Owner, Photographer & Designer at Oh!Design & Photography.

Recently I decided to start my own blog , main reason being, to provide my clients & future clients with tips for preparing for their photo sessions or their wedding day.

I also want to provide upcoming photographers with a few tips & tricks of my own I have learned over the years, editing and many more, Tricks of the trade.

Furthermore......Let's get started..... who am I ?

I am married to a wonderful husband, that supports my passion a 100%, it can be tough to be a full time photographer with a family to run & support, late hours of editing & a lot of stress along the way :-). I can't thank him enough for being by my side. I have 2 beautiful children, who don't always understand why their mom is working so much especially on weekends. I try to schedule some time alone with them as well.

I started my photography career a while back, I was still in High school , growing up with a family of photographers, it was the only thing I knew or what my parents wanted me to do, I was still very young when my father introduced me to Photoshop, I learned and practiced every day. I also worked at their local photo lab , managing it and working with clients from developing films back then and taking studio, schools photos and loads more.

I did my first wedding with my father back in 2009 I was terrified,It felt like I had no clue and he just said "you can do it, I have trained you well" from then on out the bug "Bit" me hard and I was hooked :-), my first solo wedding was in 2011 , I still remember the feeling I had I was so overwhelmed, scared, I didn't want to even show the pictures to anyone, but when clients were so happy with the outcome , it hit me, I can actually make people happy with my images and the feeling I had was incredible, a Job well done.

From then on out it was all I ever did, learning everyday, getting better with each session, building my portfolio but, when my son was born, I was over it , the long hours working, editing I was just feeling so overwhelmed. So I decided to take on a normal day to day job, but working for a boss, wasn't my thing , I missed working with people and doing my own thing so after 2 years of working,something was missing .I started from the bottom again, with no equipment, I came back to the top & managed to start Oh! Design & Photography, I am so proud of my "baby" going strong almost 3 years. I can't believe what I achieved.
